Havering Council has proposed an extension to the pedestrian and cycle zone which serves both Redden Court School and Harold Wood Primary.
The area – which currently covers part of Coombe Road up until its junction with Beltinge Road – is now set to include the entire length of Coombe Road up to Redden Court Road.
It is not clear when this change would come into force.
However, the zone’s hours of operation will remain unchanged, with cars not permitted in the area between 8.15am and 9am, or 2.30pm and 3.30pm, on weekdays during term time.
This is one of 15 school street schemes currently running in Havering, which restrict motorised traffic during school drop-off and pick-up times.
The extension is open to feedback until August 29.
