Europe’s biggest shopping street has been closed off both ways from Park Street to Orchard Street for over three hours today (August 22) after a crash at 1.47am.
Medics treated a man at the scene for head and chest injuries.
He was then taken to hospital as a priority, but his condition is unknown at this time.
With the closure in place, eight bus routes have been diverted.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.47pm today (22 August) to reports of a road traffic collision on Oxford Street, W1.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager.
“We treated a man for head and chest injuries and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
