Vincent, from Eltham, sat the exam early this year and got a grade 5 – the top he could get in the foundation GCSE paper.
The St Margaret’s Primary School in Woolwich pupil’s success is said to be rooted in a love of puzzles and a daily practice schedule.
His stepfather, Dave Tingle, runs the Learning Cabin tuition centre in Eltham and has been a major support for Vincent.
Mr Tingle said: “Vincent’s success shows what can happen when you make learning feel like a game rather than a grind.
“We used a mix of screen-based tools and short, daily bursts of learning to keep him focused.
“He worked hard and really deserved the result.”
Vincent’s early success in the maths exam, which is typically taken by those five years his senior, signifies a changing approach in how students are tackling their studies.
The combination of personalised learning plans, creative strategies, and robust support systems is proving effective in helping pupils achieve their academic goals.
This comes at a time when families across the country are seeking innovative methods to bolster their children’s academic performance.
Vincent’s journey serves as a testament to the potential benefits of a fun and focused learning environment.
Despite his achievement, Vincent maintains a typically youthful perspective.
He admits he would have rather spent his time engaged in his favourite pastime, playing the online game Roblox.
