Caterham High School reported a 12 per cent improvement in overall grades and English and maths Grade 5s compared to last year.
The school in Clayhall surpassed the national average, with 68.3 per cent of pupils achieving a grade 4 or above – the national average stands at 67.4 per cent.
High achievers included Magdalene Zambos, 16, who secured four grade 9s, three 8s, and two 7s, including a 9 in biology.
Magdalene said: “I’m so, so happy.
“It’s better than I thought.
“The school’s support has been amazing, I couldn’t have asked for more.”

He said: “Grade 9 is incredible.
“I was stressed, but the teachers kept me calm and gave me the support I needed.
“Sixth form is a dream, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Headteacher Belinda Chapple expressed her delight at the results, praising both students and staff for their hard work.
She said: “This is about more than grades.
“It’s about giving young people opportunities, whatever their starting point.
“Many of our pupils face barriers in life, but these results show what they can achieve with the right support.
“I couldn’t be prouder.”
