Callum Ryan, 24, ventured out to Porchester Spa, Bayswater, London, on August 11, 2025.
Curious about the “dodgy” reviews online, Callum wanted to try the spa out for himself.
He paid £30.90 for entry – not including treatments – but had access to the steam rooms, sauna, swimming pool and baths.
Callum said the spa “wasn’t the cleanest” but said the staff were “super friendly”.
Callum, a content creator from Wandsworth, London, said: “For £30 in London, you can’t really get anything like that – it’s the cost of a couple of pints.

“Obviously, being the oldest spa, it wasn’t the cleanest or the most modern, but it had a lot of character.
“You need a 20p coin for the lockers, which was quite nostalgic – it felt like being a kid again at the swimming pool.”
Callum headed to Porchester Spa, London, after seeing bad reviews online.
While he said it wasn’t the cleanest or most modern, there was a lot to do for the price (£30.90).
He said: “I’d seen some dodgy reviews online, and I wasn’t sure if it was going to be grim or a bit dirty.
“But the staff were really friendly and showed me around.
“It had two steam rooms, Turkish baths, a sauna, a full-sized swimming pool and loads of lounge areas.
“For £30 in London you can’t really get anything like that – it’s the cost of a couple of pints.”
Callum says he “loved” the ice plunge, which is normally a small pool, but here was a full-sized swimming pool.
He was also surprised by the size of the sauna, which was “massive – one of the biggest I’ve been to.”

The only let-down was the on-site café, which was closed when he was there, and looked “more like a snack drawer – a couple of packets of crisps and that’s about it.”
Callum said: “With the price of spas being so expensive throughout the UK, I thought, well, what’s the cheapest spa in London?”
