The annual extravaganza, now in its 13th year, will take place at Middlesex University on October 5.
It aims to show “the importance of staying connected” with the community.
“We had 700 people join us last year,” Age UK Barnet’s Helen Newman said. “It was the largest ‘Silver Sunday’ in the country and the biggest event for older people in Barnet.”
This year has live music and dance performances, a disco, creative workshops, health checks and advice sessions on topics like making a will and probate.
There is also a talk on social connections by Professor Catherine Loveday, who says: “Older people are part of our community — this is about coming together and above all feeling valued.”
‘Silver Sunday’ at the Hendon campus in The Borroughs on October 5 runs from 11am to 3pm. Details from Salimas Jiwa at Age UK Barnet on 07503-353157.
