The condition, also known as sudden arrhythmic death syndrome, refers to a sudden and unexplained cardiac arrest, where the heart stops pumping.
Mr Prince, 37, was found unresponsive at his home on May 4.
An inquest into his death was opened at East London Coroner’s Court, Walthamstow, on Monday, August 11.
“Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome, although it sounds quite scientific and medical, is essentially an admission that we don’t know what caused his death,” senior coroner Graeme Irvine said.
“Ryan’s heart stopped and we don’t know why.”
Mr Prince, born in Newham, was a DJ by profession.
No drugs, alcohol or poison were found in Mr Prince’s system and the Met Police have no concerns about any suspicious circumstances, Mr Irvine said.
In these circumstances, Mr Irvine said he was required to open an inquest.
Offering his condolences to Mr Prince’s family, he said: “Mercifully, I don’t have to deal with the deaths of young healthy people most of the time, and that’s the case here, it must compound the grief.”
