Police were called to Cotleigh Road around 4.30pm yesterday (August 6).
Officers arrived at the scene but those responsible were nowhere to be seen.
It is understood there were no reports of any injuries.
A police cordon was put in place on the road, with tape crossing the street and officers on guard.
The cordon was removed in the early hours of the following morning.
An appeal has been made for those with information to come forward.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 16:26hrs on Wednesday, 6 August to Cotleigh Road, NW6 to reports of an altercation.
“Officers attended but the people at the scene had dispersed.
“A crime scene was put in place and enquiries are being carried out.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or online quoting CAD 5248/06AUG.
“Or you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to give information anonymously.”
