Officers found Erdal Ozmen with gunshot wounds on Dynevor Road, near Stoke Newington High Street, yesterday (August 5).
He died at the scene and a murder investigation is now underway.
His friend, Ali Rizi Ojur, told ITV: “I’ve known him maybe more than 20 years.

One, translated from Turkish, reads: “So, are you very happy now? The man had children.

Residents described being woken by gunshots in the night that sounded “like a car backfiring”.
Local resident Liza Dodds, 58, said: “It’s very strange because it’s so nice here. I mean, these houses cost a million pounds, becoming very gentrified, very bourgeois with rich bankers and lawyers.
“It’s a very, very close community. Everyone knows each other.

A crime scene remains on Dynevor Road.
Stoke Newington High Street, part of the A10, was closed yesterday but has since reopened.

Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke said: “Our team of detectives and forensic specialists are working at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to the tragic death of this man.
“We understand this incident will cause concern within the Stoke Newington community, however we do believe this to be an isolated incident at this stage of the investigation with no wider risk to the general public.”
It is the sixth fatal shooting in London so far this year with three being in north London.
