The cash was raised through a sponsored walk where Hogarth Primary School parents paced themselves with their children.
“We are trying to find ways of bringing money into the school,” headteacher Rob Watson said.
“Parents were invited to walk with their children to raise money toward the Year 6 leavers’ day and our library.

“It was also a chance to come into school that wasn’t happening often in the past. They talked informally with the teachers as they walked.”
The new library will help pupils’ all-round education next term.
Hogarth is run by the Discovery Educational Trust, a partnership of primary and secondary schools in Essex.
