Stoke Newington High Street ‘shooting’: Major police presence

Multiple cordons are in place in Stoke Newington High Street near Amhurst Road since 12am today (August 5). 

Crime scenes have also been set up nearby on Dynevor Road and Lavers Street.

Pictures, obtained by the Hackney Gazette, shows several police cars and officers within the cordons. 

Bus routes 67, 76, 149, 243 and 276 are on diversion as the incident is being dealt with.

The full AA traffic statement: “Road closed due to police incident on A10 Stoke Newington High Street both ways between Amhurst Road and Kynaston Avenue.

“Detour in operation – for bus routes 67, 76, 149, 243 and 276. Since late last night. Traffic is coping well.”
