The popular climbing centre has acquired Parthian Climbing’s Wandsworth site and Hang in Hounslow, expanding their reach and increasing their space and facilities.
The Wandsworth gym will become their new flagship location, replacing the current Lydden Road site, offering top-tier facilities complete with lead lines, auto-belays, and a speed wall.

This expansion allows The Font Climbing to offer all three Olympic disciplines: lead, speed, and boulder.
Their acquisition of Hang, the much-loved gym formerly owned by renowned climbing content creators ‘Bouldering Bobats’, expands The Font’s reach into Hounslow, making quality indoor climbing even more accessible across the city.
This bold move brings the brand’s total footprint to three locations.
Joey Powis, founder of The Font Climbing, said: “It’s no secret that climbing walls in London are facing a tough climate, one that’s forcing many centres to make difficult decisions.
“Rising costs and increased competition for space means the economics of running a large indoor climbing centre can become incredibly tight.
“But we’re proud to be investing in our community, expanding access, and creating a stronger, more sustainable future for climbing in the capital.”
He added: “We’re thrilled to become London’s first multi-site climbing gym offering ropes.
“Our goal is to create inspiring spaces where climbers of all levels can climb, train and connect.
“Now with more routes, more variety, and more locations.
“We’re excited for what’s ahead.”
The new flagship gym will feature numerous climbing options, including top rope, auto-belays, and lead climbing.
There will also be new training areas and a smooth transition and upgrade for current members.
Now boasting three locations across London, The Font Climbing aims to provide climbers with more routes, more variety, and more locations to train and connect, all accessible with one membership.
