Richmond and Surrey-based artisan company, Made by Adele, was given the accolade at the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste Awards, the highest possible rating.
The judges, a panel featuring chefs, food critics, writers, and producers, hailed the pistachio, raspberry, and rose cake as “beautiful, decadent, and indulgent.”
They added: “It tastes as good as it looks,” and was “an utter delight.”

Founder Adele Hing’s creation, a pistachio and raspberry sponge cake with raspberry and rose curd and pistachio Swiss meringue buttercream, was one of the 2 percent of entries to earn the maximum three stars.
The cake, which was introduced to Made by Adele’s menu last year, costs from £90 depending on size.
Founder Adele Hing said: “It’s a cake that was immediately popular with my customers and has been my most popular flavour since I added it to my menu in 2024.
“Pistachio is a really on-trend ingredient at the moment but I’ve brought in other elements to make this a well-balanced and interesting product.
“This cake makes an impact in blind tasting at the highest level, and validates everything I’ve been working for since I started the business.”
Made by Adele’s espresso, tonka bean, and chocolate cake, which was also introduced to the menu last year, was awarded a one-star rating, bringing the total number of awards to eight for the company since it began in 2020.
The judges said: “An absolutely visually stunning looking cake.
“Care, time and attention has gone into it.”
The double success was made all the more special for founder Adele Hing as she underwent a bilateral wrist operation earlier this year.
The 36-year-old said: “It has been a tough process, mentally and physically, to go through for an individual who uses their hands to make a living, so to be able to even enter this year’s awards was an achievement in itself, but winning a 3 star award again is the icing on the cake (pun intended).”
Ms Hing launched Made by Adele in 2020 after spending more than 15 years working in food development and operations for some of the UK’s most recognised restaurants and retailers, including Waitrose.
She also works as a private chef and holds a CTH Diploma in Culinary Arts, having been trained by a Michelin-starred chef, and an Advanced Level 4 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate.
Made by Adele operates from a registered micro-bakery in Hampton, south-west London, and uses carefully selected, high-quality raw ingredients without the use of colourings, artificial flavourings, or preservatives.
All products are made in small batches and handmade.
