Once rated as ‘requires improvement’, Farnham Green Primary School has shown significant improvements in all areas, with the latest Ofsted inspection conducted in June 2025 suggesting it may soon achieve an ‘outstanding’ judgement.
Inspectors described Farnham Green, run by Strive4 Academy Trust, as “warm and welcoming” with “high aspirations” for every pupil.
They commended the school’s “exceptionally well-sequenced curriculum” and noted that behaviour is “excellent” throughout.
The school joined Strive4 Academy Trust following its 2017 inspection, and the trust’s focus on high-quality teaching and leadership development has been credited as a key factor in driving improvement.
Head of school John Lee, who was appointed as part of Strive4’s efforts to turn the school around, said: “This journey has not been easy, but it’s been worth every moment.
“From a time when Farnham Green was told it needed to improve, we have worked tirelessly with our families, pupils, and staff – and with the support and expertise of Strive4 Academy Trust – to create a school the community can be proud of.”
Ofsted also recognised the dedication of teachers and leaders, praising the robust staff training and strong support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
They found the school celebrates diversity through community projects and events such as heritage day.
Amanda Jennings, chief executive of Strive4 Academy Trust, said: “We are immensely proud of Farnham Green’s journey.
“This achievement reflects the determination of school leaders, teachers and pupils, supported by the trust’s shared vision for excellence across all our schools.”
The ungraded inspection confirmed that a full graded inspection will take place within the next two years to determine whether Farnham Green has advanced beyond its current ‘good’ status.
Parents expressed pride in the school’s progress.
One parent said: “I remember when Farnham Green was struggling.
“The changes have been amazing – my children are happy, thriving, and excited to come to school every day.”
