The singer revealed the moment to his 3.6 million followers on Instagram as he gears up for the release of his forthcoming album BRITPOP.
The plaque makes tongue in cheek reference to his music returning to the era of chart-topping British guitar bands like Oasis and Blur.
It reads: “Robbie Williams recovered from a severe case of ‘long 90s’ and returned to the home of BRITPOP with the album he always wanted to make.”
During that decade, Camden Town was a hub for Britpop bands who drank in or performed at venues such as The Good Mixer and The Dublin Castle.
Under the punning headline ‘Take Plaque’ the post went on to plug his new single Spies co-written with collaborators Karl Brazil and Owen Parker.
The singer has previously unveiled a plaque in Berwick Street Soho in tribute to former rivals Oasis ahead of their first comeback gig earlier this month.
On the site of the album shoot for 1995’s What’s The Story Morning Glory the plaque read: “Robbie Williams heard it, saw it, loved it, lived it, wanted it and snorted it…That’s The Story.”
BRITPOP is due to be released on October 10 and will feature 11 new tracks, including the singles Rocket and Spies.
Fans can pre-order the album from robbiewilliams.com to get early access to future 2025 UK live shows.
