The car left the carriageway and crashed into the Albert Pub in St Stephen’s Road at 1.35am today (July 20).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found three people injured.
One of the passengers in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car and another passenger, two men, suffered injuries which have been confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
They have both been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At around 1.25am on Sunday, 20 July, police and London Ambulance Service attended to a report of a road traffic collision in Bow.
“A car left the carriageway and collided with a building at the junction of Roman Road and St Stephen’s Road.
“One of the passengers in the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“The driver of the car and another passenger – two men in their twenties – suffered injuries which have been confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
“They have both been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
“A crime scene remains in the area whilst specialist officers complete their enquires, which are ongoing.
