The New City Salon, based at New City College’s Ardleigh Green campus in Hornchurch, offers professional training in a fully-equipped, real-world environment.
It was officially launched during a recent event attended by local dignitaries and industry partners, including the deputy mayor of Havering Cllr Barry Mugglestone.

“Our new hair and beauty salons are designed to change that.
“These commercial salons simulate the world of work and give students hands-on experience with real clients – meaning they leave us not just qualified, but fully prepared to thrive in their careers.”
Guests at the launch included representatives from Toni & Guy, KVN Hair and Beauty, Maya & Co Beauty Salon, and Moroccan Rose Beauty.
Darren Purdie, head of education provision and inclusion at Havering Council, said: “This was a terrific opportunity to see the excellent work invested by New City College into this vocational provision.”
