The centre’s owner, Redical, and its development partner, HUB, will be holding two exhibitions to share early-stage design concepts, including plans for new homes, enhancements to the public realm, and the creation of additional retail space.

The exhibitions will provide the first opportunity for Romford residents to view these initial concepts.

This follows a prior consultation exercise, in which Redical and HUB captured public opinion through a survey promoted in the centre.

Stephen Daniels, head of asset management and regeneration at Redical, said: “Redical is committed to The Liberty playing an active and positive contribution to Romford town centre for many years to come.

“We believe our plans are a great way to achieve this, and will bring further economic and social benefit to Romford.

“We are, however, very keen to understand residents’ views to ensure we deliver something we can all be proud of.”

Redical has committed £7 million to the transformation of the centre since purchasing it in 2022.

The exhibitions will be located beside Starbucks in the mall and will be open on July 17 and 19, from 11am to 5pm.

No pre-booking is required.

The commitment to the transformation will see The Liberty evolve with several improvements to the entrances and car parks, as well as an enhanced customer experience.
