Havering Police said that they were called to reports of shoplifting taking place at a shop in Camborne Avenue on July 7.
Officers arrested a suspect nearby after finding a number of stolen items, including Maltesers and Lemsip.
The woman was also found to have shoplifted from the same shop on three previous occasions.
Shannah Everitt, 30, of Bridgwater Walk, Harold Hill, has now been jailed for 14 weeks after pleading guilty to four shoplifting offences at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court.

Havering’s Assistant Chief Inspector Charlie Routley said: “This sentencing is a positive result for local shops in Harold Hill.
“Shannah Everitt continued her offending by returning to the same shop and repeatedly stealing items ranging from confectionary, drinks and medicines with an estimated value of over £500.
“We are committed to putting offenders before the courts and [this] forms part of our ongoing Clear Hold Build initiative in Harold Hill where we work closely with the business community to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
“We will continue to apprehend offenders who target high streets and town centres.”
