The improvement works along King George Hospital Road in Goodmayes are set to take place from 8am on July 12 until 4pm.
According to Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals (BHRUT) NHS Trust, the work will resume again at 8am on July 13, planned to complete again at 4pm.
King George Hospital Road is the main road entrance to the hospital, but will be blocked to patients and visitors between these hours.
The improvement works will see the road resurfaced, potholes filled and road markings repainted on the pelican crossing.

BHRUT has advised that vehicles will be diverted alternatively up the one-way road used as the exit route from the premises.
Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place to help manage the flow of traffic in both directions from the road.
Emergency service vehicles will be given priority.
