Forensics are at Chingford Mount Road today (July 7), with police cordoning off the road after the fatal knife attack the night before (July 6).
Emergency services were called at 9.11pm to reports of the stabbing.
However, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chingford Mount Road is closed both ways with queueing traffic between Hall Lane and Albert Avenue.
There’s also congestion to Hall Lane diverting towards Cooks Ferry, queueing back along Waltham Way.
Six bus routes are being diverted from the area: the 97, 158, 215, 357, 385 and 397.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.11pm on Sunday 6 July to reports of a stabbing on Chingford Mount Road, E4.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
