The London Borough of Bromley has imposed restrictions for the Crystal Palace Park events on Sunday, June 29, and Saturday, July 5.
The closures this weekend are for Deftones, the Grammy Award-winning Sacramento band who have a headline show at Crystal Palace Park alongside special guests Weezer, High Vis, HEALTH and Qendresa.
The closures are to ensure the smooth running of the event between 8am and midnight and will affect several roads in the area.
The council has announced that the roads will be closed to through traffic during the specified hours.
The roads affected include Old Cople Lane, St Aubyn’s Road, Milestone Road, Cintra Park, Ledrington Road, Crystal Palace Station Road, Pleydel Avenue, Palace Road, Brunswick Place, Anerley Vale, Hadlow Place, Waldegrave Road, Pascal Mews, Hamlet Road, Thicket Road, Versailles Road, Melbourne Court, Madeline Road, Anerley Park, Penge West Station Access, William Booth Road, and Ridsdale Road.
These roads will be closed to all traffic except for those needing access to properties on these streets.
Anerley Park will be fully closed from Penge West Station to the junction with Penge High Street from 8.30pm to midnight on each event day.
There will also be a relaxation of existing one-way restrictions as indicated by traffic signs.
The council will maintain access to premises on these roads as far as is practicable from either side of the closure.
Emergency access and pedestrian access will be available at all times during the events.
As well as this, there will be one-way systems, banned turns, and prohibitions of waiting and loading in certain areas.
Belvedere Road will have a one-way traffic system eastbound, between Tudor Road and Mowbray Road.
Banned right-turn movements will also be enforced from Cintra Park, Chipstead Road, Hamlet Road, and Maberley Crescent onto Belvedere Road.
There will also be banned left-turn movements from Auckland Road and Belvedere Road at junctions with Mowbray Road and Tudor Road.
Mowbray Road will have a one-way traffic system southwest bound between Belvedere Road and Jasper Road.
The prohibitions will apply only during the specified times and to the extent indicated by traffic signs.
The order will come into effect at 8am and last until midnight on both Sunday, June 29, and Saturday, July 5.
A spokesperson for the London Borough of Bromley said the measure was necessary to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event.
The council has advised road users to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience caused by the closures.
The event organisers have also taken steps to ensure that the events are accessible to all.
The council has made it clear that this order does not prevent pedestrian access at any time to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which the order relates, or to any other premises which are accessible from such a road.
For any queries regarding the notice, residents can contact the council’s environmental services department (traffic section) on 020 8313 4543.
