Plans to refurbish and extend Brewdog, in Station Road, were approved by Havering Council earlier this month.

The proposals include building a part single, part two-storey extension at the back of the current building, which will serve as new storage areas at ground floor and an expanded kitchen space at first floor level.

Errol Kiani, general manager of Brewdog Upminster, told the Recorder that the main goal of the refurb is to “enhance efficiency and safety” for staff and customers.

He said: “Our current design has not kept pace with the popularity of our venue, and the existing kitchen is not equipped to handle the volume of business we are experiencing.

“Additionally, the renovation will allow us to better align with Brewdog’s future menu aspirations, ensuring that we continue to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.”

Mr Kiani explained that the ground floor of the venue will remain “largely unchanged” and will be kept “open and fully functional during the construction process”.

The middle floor bar will get a small increase in seating capacity, while the kitchen will see a “complete overhaul”, the general manager said.

The roof area will see the biggest change for customers, with a focus on extra seating.

Mr Kiani added that Brewdog does not yet have a specific start date for construction works.
