Former Primrose Hill Triyoga site reopens as yoga studio

The chic light-filled zen-like sanctuary in Erskine Road swiftly became a magnet for celebrities including Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Geri Halliwell and Rachel Weisz.

When they fought a battle with developers who wanted to turn it into flats, the petition was signed by Sir Paul McCartney, Sadie Frost and Jamie Oliver, with retail guru Mary Portas claiming Triyoga’s loss would cause a “spiral of decline” in the area, and Sir Paul calling it “an unforgiveable mistake”.

Now, the original founder is back where he started taking over part of the original building – a former shoe warehouse and Green Shield stamp factory.

With new venture HOME, the former lawyer has fitted out the venue into a state of the art centre for wellbeing with “a blend of warmth, expertise, love and an unerring eye for design”.

There’s also a far-infrared sauna, a vegetarian cafe by One Love Kitchen, changing and shower facilities, and a team of world-renowned teachers and therapists.

Jonathan Sattin says, “After stepping back from triyoga at the end of July 2022, I never thought I would do it again, hearing so many people talk about this loss of genuine connection in our post-pandemic world, I began to wonder.

“By some quirk of fate, on my many visits to ‘The Little Bread Peddler’ in Primrose Hill, I saw that quite a few of the buildings in the redeveloped courtyard off Erskine Road (which was home – excuse the pun – to the original triyoga) were still vacant. The seed was sown…It felt symbolic. Intuitive. Like coming home. That’s where HOME began.”

Sattin wants it to be “a beautiful, welcoming, warm and inclusive place of connection”.

“Together with my business partner and ex triyoga student Bob Taylor along with a small group of mainly Primrose Hill residents, we began creating HOME. We’ve been backed mainly by local people who believe in the sense of community and connection we want to create, with lessons learned (hopefully) from our past to improve what we do this time.” he added.

HOME opens on Sunday June 29 with a day of free classes for all levels in a variety of yoga styles and disciplines from Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa and Yin yoga, to 4Beat, Anusara Vinyasa, HOME hot, Yoga for Cancer.

HOME opens from June 30 with special deals on memberships and classes available go to www.homewellness.uk
