Billed as the ‘Summer of Sound,’ the six week festival of live music, and family entertainment is headlined by Soul II Soul founder Jazzie B.
The DJ and producer is a proud local who grew up around Camden Town and once had a stall on the market.
Paying homage to the market’s famous music heritage and vibrant spirit, he will curate a weekly Friday night music event – the Back 2 Life Café series – at Hawley Warf with DJs, sound system exhibitions, and sets spanning
everything from reggae and soul to dance and funk.
The series begins on July 18 with a special warm-up event featuring Ska revival pioneer Jerry Dammers, founder of The Specials, playing everything from reggae and roots to funk and soul.

Jazzie B OBE said: “Camden Market has always had a unique energy, a real melting pot of culture and sound. To bring Back II Life Café here, curating a line-up with iconic DJs is a powerful nod to Camden’s enduring legacy.
“It’s about celebrating that rich heritage of music and community that makes Camden Market truly special, delivering good vibration for everyone.”
DJ Shy One takes to the decks on August 1, then on August 8 it’s the turn of Jazzie B himself followed on August 15 by Tony Monson (Solar Radio) and Chris Baxter (Soul II Soul).
Additional summer highlights at Camden Market include a special Amy Winehouse live tribute, emerging talent, family fun, and an unmissable closing party with DJ Fat Tony.
All of the Back 2 Life Cafe Series are free to attend and run from 5pm to 8pm.
