A spokesperson for Transport for London has confirmed a “small litter fire on the track” was reported to the London Fire Brigade this morning (June 19).
The station has been temporarily closed whilst the incident was dealt with and is expected to “reopen shortly”.
The fire incident has resulted in severe delays reported across the District line, with no service at present between West Ham and Barking.

A part suspension is in place on the Hammersmith & City line between Liverpool Street and Barking.
There are reports of severe delays on the rest of the line according to TfL.
