Brentwood Borough Council has granted planning permission for more than 112,000 square metres of industrial and office space at Brentwood Enterprise Park, next to junction 29 of the M25.

The site is expected to generate 1,580 construction jobs and 2,660 additional roles once operational.

Councillor Philip Mynott, chairman of the planning committee at Brentwood Borough Council, said: “This site incorporates high sustainability credentials, reducing energy demand through building design and includes measures that will save and generate power.

“It will deliver a huge boost to investment in local infrastructure including £77 million on M25 junction 29, the B186 Warley Interchange, improved walking and cycling links and improvements to bus services.

“And it will generate significant economic development benefits to the borough by creating construction jobs and new local jobs.

“Workers from the development are expected to spend up to £6.9 million in the local area each year.”

The project will also support enhancements to transport links, the council says, including better bus services and improved routes for walking and cycling.

The development was approved following a resolution to grant in December 2023, pending a Section 106 agreement.
