Bexley parkrun: 471 runners take part in Danson Park event

Danson Park was bustling with activity as 471 participants gathered for the event on Saturday, May 10.

James MacDonald, from Cambridge Harriers, led the field, finishing as the fastest recorded male runner in an impressive time of 18.05.

The second-place finisher was recorded as unknown, while Richard Grindley claimed the third-fastest recorded male spot with a time of 19.14.

Close behind was Jonathan Sargent, also of Cambridge Harriers, who crossed the line in 19.17.

Among the women, Pelin Irfan was the fastest recorded female finisher, completing the course in 21.52.

Annabel Field followed just behind in 22.01, while Donna Martin, of Cambridge Harriers, rounded out the top three female finishers in 22.38.

Bexley parkrun also celebrated the continued support of its volunteers, without whom the event could not take place.

This week’s team included Mark Allen, Zehra Bakir, Shane Bygrave, Leonie Charles, Joe Cleverly, Keith Stephen Dungate, Jacob Foreman, Karen Foreman, Michelle Gifford, Graham Lee, Sarah Lee, Daniel Lipparelli, Keith Lockhart, Natasha Luc, Cathy Morgan, George Moss, Jake Slieker, Jon Slieker, Graham Smith, Balbir Sunners, Penelope Symonds, Richard Symonds, Damian Thorpe, Harry Trebilcook, Maiah Tsagli, and Lola Warner.
