The Travellers’ Choice Awards highlight the best of the best hotels and are awarded based on 12 months of review data from 1.6 million hotels listed on the site.

Categories for the awards include top hotels, all-inclusive, B&BS and Inns, family friendly, luxury, small and boutique and pet-friendly.

Discussing the awards, President of Tripadvisor, Kristen Dalton said: “Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Hotels captures the opinions of millions of travellers worldwide and offers trusted guidance for travellers to plan their best stays.

“Known for their outstanding hospitality, premium amenities and prime locations, Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Hotels stand out as top choices in their respective destinations and across the globe.”

Among the list of top ten hotels in the UK were seven London destinations, including St. Ermin’s Hotel and The Resident Covent Garden.

The six London hotels named best in the UK

The six London hotels named on the list and where they ranked are as follows:

  • St. Ermin’s Hotel – 1st place
  • The Resident Covent Garden – 3rd place
  • The Chesterfield Mayfair – 4th place
  • The Resident Soho – 7th place
  • The Royal Lancaster London – 8th place
  • Hotel 41 – 10th place

Earning the top spot for the UK was St. Ermin’s Hotel, which was also named second best in Europe and ranked sixth for the best in the world.

St Ermin’s is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and is described as a “deluxe hotel” that “provides guests with beautiful and innovative facilities.”

On Tripadvisor, the hotel has a 4.7/5 rating, with one guest reviewing: “From the moment you check into St Ermin’s, you know you have selected a hotel with class.”

Another guest said: “What an exquisite hotel! From the moment we arrived, every staff member was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and professional.”

Also on the list was The Chesterfield Mayfair with a 4.8/5 rating on Tripadvisor and describes itself as “quintessentially British and exudes classic charm and unique personality.”

Reviewing the hotel, one guest said: “I highly recommend this quaint hotel. The location is perfect, and the room was great. What really stands out is the service. The staff is so friendly and helpful.”
