The incident happened in John Wilson Street just after 5.30pm yesterday (May 11).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a male injured.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital where his condition is unknown.
The age of the victim is unclear at this stage.
We have contacted Metropolitan Police for further information on the incident.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.33pm yesterday (11 May) to reports of a stabbing in John Wilson Street, Woolwich.
“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and members of our tactical response unit to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road as a priority.”
