The Great British Food Festival, which is celebrating 15 years, will be held at Wimbledon Park from August 23 to 25.

The festival will feature a host of chefs, street food vendors, and an artisan market.

Visitors can expect to see chef demonstrations from Tony Alberti, Marni Xuto, and Christiaan de Vries.

Tony Alberti, known for his bold approach to Italian cuisine, will be sharing his culinary expertise.

Marni Xuto, a recipe developer for BBC Food and Delicious magazine, will also be appearing.

She said: “I want people to understand that Thai food is easy, and you just need a few store cupboard essentials, such as Thai fish sauce, good quality coconut milk and oyster sauce which form the basis of many delicious dishes.”

Christiaan de Vries, the 2024 finalist of the Great British Bake Off, will be demonstrating cakes and bakes.

He said: “This is so exciting for me.

“I can’t wait to share my passion with the crowds at the Great British Food Festival.

“To have that live feedback from an audience is priceless.”

The festival will also feature discussions between chefs and foodies at The Chat Stage, where visitors can learn about trends, the best kitchen tools, and wine pairings.

There will be samples to try and the opportunity to ask questions in an informal setting.

Janine, a representative of the Great British Food Festival, said: “We’re so excited to be in Wimbledon Park.

“Visitors will be able to experience high quality food and drink in one of the most beautiful settings.

“The festival is a great way to spend a relaxing day out with friends and family.

“Take your taste buds on a culinary adventure trying new global cuisine from the incredible array of street food stalls.”

She added: “The festival aims to bring people together through a shared love of food and offers a range of activities including the Chilli Challenge, the legendary Cake-Off, Foraging Walks, and more.

“With plenty of bars, a local crafts and gift marquee and a vast artisan market showcasing the best local produce, visitors are in for a treat.”

The festival will also have live music throughout the weekend from a range of artists including Mollie Laine.

There is a play area and kids cookery classes, making it a winning day out for families, and the event is dog friendly so there’s no need to rush back home.

The Great British Food Festival will be at Wimbledon Park from August 23 to 25 from 10am until 5pm.
