Flower company Bloom & Wild have compiled a list of the UK’s top 15 most loved lavender fields to visit ahead of the lavender season, which typically lasts from June to August.
Finchingfield Lavender is part of the Finchingfield Camping Site and was named the seventh “most loved” in the UK.
On the Finchingfield website, it describes itself as “a small, friendly lavender farm and campsite that values peace and tranquillity for all our visitors”.

“The purple haze on the landscape starts in July and gradually deepens over a few weeks and lasts right up until September.”
Located in Howe Street, Braintree, the site is less than one hour and ten minutes away from Romford in the car according to Google Maps.
Naming Finchingfield within the top 10 of the list, Bloom & Wild wrote: “Finchingfield Lavender can be found just an hour away from London in the beautiful countryside of Essex.

“The pitches include toilets, firepits with BBQ grills and picnic benches for al fresco dining.
“Deck chairs, sun loungers, hay bale sofas, chairs, and picnic blankets are all provided in the lavender field, so guests can truly relax in a gorgeous setting that is a true pleasure to the senses.”
Finchingfield has an average Google rating of 4.8 (Image: Finchingfield Lavender Field) The rankings for Bloom & Wild’s list was judged through an index score for each location using the average Google reviews and Instagram followers of the site.
The flower company said they used the equation of Google rating + (Instagram followers ÷ 1,000) to keep things “weighted fairly” whilst “reflecting both digital reach and visitor satisfaction”.
Finchingfield Lavender and Camping Site has just less than 8,000 Instagram followers and a 4.8 average Google rating as of May 9, 2025.
Finchingfield Lavender Field also offers glamping pitches (Image: Finchingfield Lavender Field) One satisfied visitor wrote on Google: “Our visit to the lavender farm was truly delightful.
“We harvested a generous bag of lavender and I would absolutely recommend this spot for a family or a couples’ day out.
“We can’t wait to get back again next season.”
Another happy punter described Finchingfield as “an exceptionally peaceful place”.
The lavender farm is due to reopen later this month.
