The pensioner died in hospital two days after police were called to reports of a robbery in Goodchild Road on Tuesday (May 6).
According to PA, the victim has been named by court staff as John Mackey.
Peter Augustine, 58, was arrested by police in Green Lanes, Hornsey, on Thursday (May 8) and charged with robbery and murder the following day.
The Metropolitan Police said that the 58-year-old, from Green Lanes, appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today.
He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday (May 13).
