Greenwich cyclist sexually assaulted women
(Image: Met Police) Eddwin Cortes-Pinerez, 40, of Mitcham Lane in Streatham, repeatedly groped lone women in Greenwich.
He sexually assaulted five women in the space of three weeks, each time quickly approaching the women from behind and grabbing their bottoms before cycling off.
A court was told: “The offences are part of a pattern of offending with a consistent modus operandi where in each case he would use a bicycle to approach lone women walking or commuting in public, approaching them at speed and soundlessly, suddenly and without warning offending against them by grabbing their buttocks and squeezing it firmly.”
“He then used his bicycle to speed away and in most of these case was not able to be identified by the complainants.”
One of the victims was seriously injured when she fell over as she ran after him to take his photo, while another experienced a panic attack as a result of the assault.
The court heard that he had initially claimed these were “pranks” but later pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual assault.
He was jailed for 19 months and banned from riding a bicycle.

Greenwich gunmen who tried to kill cage-fighter
(Image: Met Police) Daniel Kelly, 46, and brothers Stewart, 46, and Louis Ahearne, 36, all from Greenwich, travelled to shoot a man in his own kitchen.
The trio travelled from Dartford to Woodford Green in 2019 in a crime that police said resembled a “Hollywood blockbuster”.
Months before the three were involved in a museum heist in Geneva, stealing a Ming Dynasty vase for which they were extradited and tried in Switzerland.
On the night of the shooting, the three “hardened criminals” travelled from their homes in southeast London to Woodford Green using a car that had been hired two days earlier by Stewart Ahearne.
While he waited in the car in Worcester Avenue, Kelly and Louis Ahearne snuck into a garden of a house overlooking the back garden of their target’s house in Malvern Drive.
At around 11.09pm, six shots were fired through the back doors and windows of the house in Malvern Drive, at least one of which struck their 45-year-old male target in his kitchen.
Kelly and Ahearne fled back to the waiting car, which drove away, leaving their victim fighting for his life.

Conde claims she was “spoiling for a fight” and was armed with a police-style baton, something the woman denies.
A fight broke out instantly during which the victim felt a number of heavy blows to her body, she didn’t know it at the times but Conde had stabbed her six times with a sharp point tyre repair tool.
Conde stopped his attack when the woman began coughing up blood, the court heard.

(Image: Met Police) David Walcott, 35, of Turle Road in Norbury, and Rammon Mali, 33, of Valley Road in Croydon, were both jailed for life with minimum terms of 27 years for the murder of Rijkaard Siafa in Croydon.
