The ultimate London bucket list
Visit the Tower of London
The Tower of London is one of the capital’s most important buildings, holding rich history dating back to the 11th century when it was built and when William the Conqueror ruled.
After the building was completed in the 1000s, the Tower held prisoners, including Guy Fawkes and the Jesuit Priest John Gerard.
Still to this day, the Tower holds the original executioner’s block from the 18th century and an axe dating to the Tudor times.
Visits to the Tower of London give you the chance to see the Crown Jewels and get a tour from one of the Yeoman Warders.
Taste the food at Borough Market
If you want to taste what London has to offer, Borough Market is a must-visit, with hundreds of stalls selling amazing food.
Open since 1756, Borough Market sells produce and street food from more than 100 traders and is open six days a week.
Sharing why it’s so special, Borough Market explains: “Our stalls, stands, shops and restaurants are all completely distinctive – unique in the food they sell and in the people who sell it.”
At the market, you can enjoy the likes of Argentine treats at Porteña or try some roast meats at the Roast Restaurant.
See art at the National Gallery
The National Gallery holds some of the most important artworks in history, from Georges Seurat, Claude Monet, Rachel Ruysch, Rembrandt, and Vincent van Gogh.
The free gallery is a must-visit for anyone who lives in London or is visiting the capital.
You can enjoy the artwork at your own pace and take in everything the gallery has to offer daily from 10am to 6pm and on Fridays until 9pm.
Although you can do walk-up entry, the gallery does encourage booking a free ticket in advance.
