The borough was placed 402nd out of 1,447 locations across England and Wales in the Best Places to Live 2025 report, published by Garrington Property Finders.
Greenwich ranked 42nd for heritage and culture, reflecting its historic sites, museums and listed buildings, and 55th for schools, employment and connectivity, highlighting the strength of its transport links and access to jobs and education.
However, the borough was rated just 1,422nd for wellbeing, one of the lowest scores in the country.
This category is based on factors such as health outcomes, life satisfaction and access to wellbeing services.
It also scored poorly for house price quality and value, ranking 1,044th. The average price of a family home in Greenwich is estimated at £835,869, significantly above the national average.
Over the past 12 months, average property prices in the borough have fallen slightly, with a 0.48 per cent drop in average price per square foot.
Greenwich’s natural environment was mid-ranking at 505th, reflecting average access to green space and environmental quality within the capital.
Despite the mixed results, Greenwich’s overall rank places it in the top third of locations included in the report.
Garrington’s study only includes the 1,447 best places to live across England and Wales, all with a population of more than 5,000, and is based entirely on publicly available data.
The ten highest-ranked locations in the 2025 report are:
