Running from 11am to 4pm, the Lesnes Abbey Easter Festival promises a packed day of activities for all ages, including a visit from the Easter Bunny, magic shows, Punch and Judy, bouncy castles, and performances from local theatre and dance groups.
One of the highlights of the day is the Easter Bonnet Parade, judged by the Mayor of Bexley.
Families are encouraged to get creative and bring their best handmade hats, with prizes up for grabs for the most eye-catching designs.
The ever-popular Easter Egg Trail will also be running throughout the day. Children can search for clues hidden around the park to discover which animals are hiding in the woods.
Those who complete the trail will win a small prize. Tickets cost £4.50 per child and can be booked online, though a limited number may be available on the day.
There’s plenty to eat too. Street food stalls will be serving up a wide range of dishes, including stonebaked pizza from Robbin Dough, Turkish flatbreads from Istanbul Gozleme, Rainbow Waffles, Teddy Bear Boba Tea, vegan Caribbean cuisine, pasta, sausages, crepes and more.
There’ll also be free arts and crafts, games to try out, and even a chance to spot Jack Sparrow wandering the grounds.
The festival is free to attend. Visitors are advised to use public transport where possible, as parking near the site is limited.
Lesnes Abbey Woods is a short walk from Abbey Wood Station, with several bus routes stopping nearby.
