Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Godfrey Avenue near Alec Reed Academy at around 8.15pm yesterday (April 16).
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 17-year-old girl suffering a cut to the head.
She was taken to hospital for treatment where her injuries are confirmed to be not life threatening.
The man remains in custody.
A crime scene was put in place while the incident was dealt with.
Investigations into the circumstances continue.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 20:15hrs on Wednesday, 16 April to reports of a stabbing in Godfrey Avenue, Northolt.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 17-year-old female suffering a cut to the head; she was taken to hospital – her injury is not life threatening.
“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.
“A crime scene was put in place while the incident was dealt with.
“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
“Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD6857/16Apr.”
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said, “We were called at 8.14pm today (16 April) to reports of a stabbing near Godfrey Avenue, UB5.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a member of our tactical response unit.
“We treated a teenager at the scene and took her to a hospital.”
