Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at 9.35am this morning (April 17), with reports of a man injured in Marlborough Road.
They were dispatched to the scene alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service, where it was confirmed that the man had been left with injuries after a crash with a car.
His head injury is not believed to be life threatening at this stage.
The car involved did not stop at the scene of the incident and enquiries are underway to locate it.
A crime scene is in place.
A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 09:35hrs on Thursday, 17 April to reports of a man injured after being involved in a collision with a car in Marlborough Road, Dagenham.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the man has been taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury – at this stage, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
“The car did not stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate it.
“A crime scene remains in place.
