The event, which will take place on April 23, will feature a range of activities centred around reading, writing, and creativity.
The library will be open to the public for free.
World Book Night is similar to World Book Day, but it focuses on teenagers and adults.
The event will include the giveaway of 150 ‘quick reads’, creative writing workshops, and a Q&A session with local authors.
There will also be a painting taster session, a talk on the history of Bromley, and a start-up marketplace showcasing local entrepreneurs.
Other attractions include cocktails, Nigerian food, poetry recitals, Shakespearean monologues, and music from BRIT School students.
Comic book artist Ken Hopgood, creator of Marvel’s ‘Hulk Buster’, will also be present.
The event is part of the ‘Bromley 60’ celebrations.
Bromley libraries are run by GLL, a charitable social enterprise under the ‘Better’ brand.
Supporting local communities is a key part of their ethos.
Sally Adcock, GLL’s libraries manager in the borough, said: “We’re very excited to be offering our first World Book Night, continuing our tradition of the ‘Library Lates’ after-dark events.
“We’ve got some fantastic local authors and illustrators coming along plus inspiring entrepreneurs and cracking performers – who needs sleep?”
The event will start at 6pm on April 23.
