TAI, located on Foxberry Road, is fast becoming a go-to spot for food lovers seeking an authentic taste of Thailand.
The restaurant, founded in 2019 by Richard Poole, the co-founder of Slurp Thai and Dang’s, offers a myriad of traditional Thai dishes.

TAI’s menu is steeped in family history, with many recipes being cherished secrets from Mr Poole’s Southern Thai side.
These have been passed down through generations and are now shared with Londoners.

TAI’s logo was created in honour of Marium, a beloved dugong from Southern Thailand who sadly died due to plastic pollution.
This story was a significant inspiration for the restaurant’s core values, which include prioritising sustainability and minimising waste.
As part of this mission, TAI does not serve beef, and all its packaging is fully recyclable.
The restaurant has also partnered with Ecologi to support carbon capture initiatives and tree planting efforts aiding reforestation.
In addition, the restaurant donates 50p from every pad thai sold to children’s charity For Life Thailand.
TAI has so far donated a total of £15,000 to the charity, and also supports and donates to local charities and schools.
With its inviting interior, adorned with bamboo, exposed brickwork, and green foliage, TAI offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
The restaurant is easily accessible, being just 17 minutes from London Bridge and seven minutes from Canada Water by Tube.
TAI is not just a culinary venture for Mr Poole; it’s a personal mission to share the tastes of his heritage while making a positive impact on the world.
His family started the well-known restaurant chain Rosa’s Thai, and he played a key role in its early success before launching his own venture.
TAI is more than just a restaurant; it’s a testament to the power of food to bring people together and make a difference in the world.
Whether you’re a food lover, a sustainability advocate, or just someone looking for a good meal, TAI offers something for everyone.
As summer approaches, TAI is set to be a must-visit spot for Londoners.
