Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth has welcomed visitors to its revitalised space after the “significant enhancements” were completed.
The improvements, both inside and out, aim to create a “more welcoming and dynamic environment” for shoppers, cementing the centre’s place as a “contemporary and vibrant retail and leisure destination”.

The redesign respects the borough’s rich history while integrating seamlessly with the rejuvenated Wandsworth town centre.
By combining modern design with community heritage, Southside hopes to improve the shopping experience and attract a wide range of brands.
The centre’s north and south entrances, on Wandsworth High Street and Garratt Lane respectively, have had looped metal and red brick arches added in a nod to historical fixtures such as the Wandsworth Aqueduct and Wandsworth Stadium.
The west-facing wall now boasts a mural by Ruki Chuki, a local artist, featuring bright colours that reflect the area’s diversity.
Inside, the upper concourse has been redesigned to include integrated seating, encouraging social interaction.
The space has been designed with the site’s history as Wandsworth Greyhound Stadium in mind.
Additional improvements include new lighting and wayfinding to enhance the visitor experience, as well as energy-efficient LED strip-lighting to brighten the centre.
The revamp comes after a year of growth for the centre, with the arrival of new brands Lidl, Fluffy Fluffy, and Foresthaven, as well as the expansion of H&M, Poundland, and the Fragrance Shop.
This year, the centre will welcome more new retail and lifestyle brands, including Padel Social Club.
A spokesperson for Southside Shopping Centre said: “We’re delighted to announce the completion of our centre refresh and unveil a fresh new look which brings a modern feel to the centre, fosters a sense of community, and enriches the everyday experience for those who live, work, and visit Wandsworth.
“Over the past year, we have been committed to enhancing the guest experience by welcoming a diverse range of new brands.
“These additions, alongside the refurbishment, have significantly bolstered our offering as a premier shopping and leisure destination.
“Southside is proud to be a central part of Wandsworth as it ushers in its year as Borough of Culture this April.
“These improvements reflect our dedication to creating a welcoming space that celebrates Wandsworth and attracts visitors for both shopping and leisure.”
