Tesco has confirmed that a new store is being built at 89 Aldersbrook Road.
A spokesperson said the chain will keep the community updated with plans as the store gets closer to opening this winter.
Speculation began when Keith Ward posted pictures of construction works in Aldersbrook Road in a public Facebook group.

According to Google Maps pictures from 2022, the new shop will be situated where Money Saver Superstore, Paula’s Plaice fish and chips and Rodwell Memorials used to be.

According to Tesco’s website, it operates 11 stores in Redbridge, including superstores in Goodmayes, Barkingside and Woodford Green.
Other Express stores are in the likes of Wanstead, Seven Kings and Gants Hill.
