An air ambulance landed in the area after the attack in Cowper Avenue, off Plashet Grove, on Saturday (April 5) at around 2.20pm.
Emergency services found a 36-year-old man who had been stabbed and he was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
His injuries are non-life-threatening or life changing, the Metropolitan Police said.
No arrests have been made but police are investigating the matter.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating an aggravated robbery which took place in Cowper Avenue, East Ham at around 14:20hrs on Saturday, 5 April.
“A 36-year-old man was treated at the scene for a stab wound, and was later taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. His injuries have since been deemed non-life-threatening or life-changing.
“No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.”
