Keir Hardie Primary School in Robertson Road is one of only four London schools to partner with Disney Musicals in Schools programme this year.
This scheme, started by Disney Theatrical Group in 2010, provides resources and training to allow selected schools to put on their very own musical theatre show.
Yasmin Begum, a teacher at Keir Hardie Primary, put forwards an application for the programme and was “delighted” to be successful.

“Some of the project managers from the Disney Musicals in Schools scheme came into our school, had a quick look around and chose to work with us.”
She said the children were “so excited” to perform on the West End stage.
They were involved in a 30-minute Jungle Book Kids show at the Lyceum Theatre on Monday, March 24.

“Some of these kids had never been to the theatre before so to have the opportunity to perform at the theatre is something that they’ll hopefully remember for the rest of their lives.
“Witnessing the students transform through storytelling, music, and teamwork proves that the magic of Disney isn’t just on screen – it’s in them.”
Pupils said it was a ‘magical experience’ (Image: Keir Hardie Primary School) Some of the school’s regular teachers took on directorial and managerial roles for the show.
Multiple pupils described it as a “magical experience”.
Trae Bella, ten, said: “I never thought I could be on stage, but now I feel like a real Disney character.”
