Billy Kenneally, 20, was found dead at the train tracks a short distance away from Erith station on Monday (March 24) at 8.15am.
It is understood he was reported as missing shortly before his body was found.
His sister Layna Kenneally has said that the family received “the worst news ever” about her “baby brother”.
In a GoFundMe page, she said: “[He is] still a baby he was such a loved boy, so lovely, caring and had the biggest smile, he would do anything for anyone.
“We’ve lost the biggest part of our life, we are now left completely in shock and heartbroken, we are absolutely shattered.
“We can’t make any sense of why this has happened, please can you donate anything to give our Billy-boy the best send off – he deserves the world.”
She added: “He didn’t deserve to be taken my baby brother we miss you so much already.”
Flowers were laid to rest near the gates of the track on Tuesday (March 25).
Alongside it is a large red balloon shaped like a heart and a card attached.
Police investigations to establish the circumstances leading to the death are ongoing.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “The incident remains under investigation, we can’t discuss personal details of the deceased at this stage as enquiries continue.”
The incident caused major disruption on both Southeastern and Thameslink services, as trains were unable to run on the Woolwich line for hours.
