The Peckwater Estate pitch in Camden will be “resurfaced and refreshed,” providing a safe place for young people to play football and other sports.
This is the fourth pitch in north London to be refurbished under the No More Red campaign by Arsenal and Adidas.
Launched in 2022, the initiative supports the work of Arsenal in the Community, creating opportunities for youngsters and shielding them from risks like knife crime.
Camden Council leader Cllr Richard Olszewski said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Arsenal in the Community and the local district management committee, who are providing vital funding to refresh this sports pitch – this will make a huge difference for the local community.”
Football sessions by Arsenal in the Community will resume, providing weekly training for children.
Cllr Sagal Abdi-Wali, cabinet member for better homes, said: “This is wonderful news for the Peckwater Estate and local community.
“Refurbishing the pitch will allow children and young people to make full use of the pitch once again, providing a wide range of activities to improve health, wellbeing and community connectiveness.”
The work is due to be completed before the summer.
