Harry Webb was critically injured in the crash in Kenworthy Road on the evening of September 10, 2023.
Police have said that the cyclist was struck by a car which then collided with another vehicle.
The 27-year-old was rushed to hospital, but died two days later despite efforts to save his life.
Tiffany Treanor-Johnson, of Bramshaw Road, Homerton, has previously appeared in court charged with failing to stop after a road accident.
At each hearing, the case had been adjourned due to the ongoing nature of the police investigation, which has taken 18 months.
According to the charges, the 26-year-old was allegedly driving the Audi involved in the crash, and failed to stop at the scene.
A second charge alleges that she failed to stop after causing damage to a red Citroen in the same incident.
Police have now confirmed that Treanor-Johnson was charged with death by dangerous driving on Thursday (March 13).
The 26-year-old is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday (March 17).
Harry’s parents, Pat and Mike Webb, have described their only child as a “kind, warm, generous and loving person”, adding that their “grief and devastation” is “unbearable”.
The 27-year-old had completed a master’s in philosophy at the University of Amsterdam, and was studying for a further master’s at London College of Contemporary Music when he was killed.
His parents said: “Harry was bright, engaging and loved the challenge of learning new things and travelling to new places.
“He has had a lifelong love of music, he was a drummer, pianist and composed music.”
They added that they had dropped their son off in London on the day of the crash, and received the emergency call just hours after returning to Wales.
