The Londesborough was sold in an off-market deal to Colin Butcher and Anna Bröjer, who live in the area and already run The Blue Posts in Berwick Street.
The Posts is renowned as an “old school” pub with a carpet, craft beer, and events including stand-up comedy and jazz and blues nights.

(Image: The Londesborough) Now, the duo have acquired a Victorian pub at the corner of Londesborough Road and Barbauld Road, Stoke Newington, from the previous owners Patrick and Gregory Wright, who had run it for 17 years.
Built in 1868, it was originally called The Londesborough Tavern and has a rich history including as a venue for billiards and social meetings – such as The Pride of Stoke Newington mutual society.
It is also one of the pubs where East End gangsters the Kray twins drank in the 1960s, but in recent years it has become a cherished local, successful wedding venue, and renowned gastro pub loved for its Sunday roasts.

The pub has been refurbished in minimalist style with exposed brickwork, and large retro style chairs and benches, and the new owners have applied for a late licence on Friday and Saturday until midnight.
