Dame Tipping Primary School hosted the Romford Raiders ice hockey team on March 6.
The visit, which coincided with World Book Day, was organised by assistant head of school Sarah Hillyer.
The players demonstrated their ice hockey skills, encouraging pupils to take an interest in the sport.
They also explained their reliance on volunteers, aligning with the school’s ethos of children being “agents for change”.
The Raiders discussed their love for reading, stressing the importance of balancing learning with sports to become healthy individuals and role models.
A team spokesperson said: “We had the pleasure of visiting Dame Tipping, the oldest school in Havering at 300 years.
“It felt extra special as it was also World Book Day and all the staff and children looked amazing in their outfits.
“It was great to have fun with the children while telling them about the Romford set-up including the junior teams.”
